Hospice care is specialized support for patients with a life-limiting illness, focusing on comfort, dignity, and quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Who qualifies for hospice care?
Patients with a terminal diagnosis and a life expectancy of six months or less, as certified by a physician, are typically eligible.
Where is hospice care provided?
Hospice care can be delivered in the patient’s home, a nursing facility, or an assisted living center—wherever the patient calls home.
How is hospice care paid for?
Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans fully cover hospice services, including medications, equipment, and nursing visits.
Can I keep my regular doctor?
Yes. You can continue to see your primary doctor while also receiving hospice support from our interdisciplinary care team.
How soon can services begin?
In many cases, hospice services can begin within 24 hours of referral and medical authorization.
Is hospice only for cancer patients?
No. Hospice is available for any terminal illness, including heart failure, dementia, COPD, ALS, and more.
What support is available for families?
We offer emotional counseling, spiritual care, and grief support for families before and after the loss of a loved one.
